Associate Professor Camile S Farah

BDSc, MDSc, GCEd (HE), FRACDS (Oral Med), FIAOO, FICD

A/Professor Farah graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Western Australia and practiced dentistry on a part-time basis while completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Oral Pathology and Immunology.

He was awarded his PhD from the University of Queensland, and subsequently several Postdoctoral Research Fellowships at the same institution. During this time, A/Prof Farah completed his specialist clinical training in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology, and was awarded a Master of Dental Science from UQ.

A/Prof Farah was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons as an Inaugural Fellow in the Special Field of Oral Medicine. He also holds fellowships from the International Academy of Oral Oncology and the International College of Dentists.

Currently, A/Prof Farah maintains a specialist private practice in Oral Medicine and Clinical Oral Pathology, and holds a teaching and research appointment at the UQ School of Dentistry. He is also the Group Leader of the Oral Cancer Research Program based at the UQ Centre for Clinical Research. A/Prof Farah is also a Consultant Oral Pathologist to Qscan Radiology Clinics.

A/Prof Farah is a member of several professional bodies such as the International Association of Oral Pathologists, the Oral Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand, the European Academy of Oral Medicine, the International Association for Dental Research, and the Australian Dental Association. He is also the Inaugural President of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia.

He is a regular contributor to the dental and medical literature, and has presented numerous continuing education courses.
